Five Culture Pillars

These five pillars represent what we care about most at GCommerce.
They are as specific as possible without limiting the company, and have evolved over time as our needs have changed.

Flexibility

We understand that life exists outside of our company, and do our best to accommodate that. While Paid Time Off is always an option, we also allow team members to temporarily shift their office hours to deal with family issues, take a mental health break, or hit the slopes for a few hours.

We also encourage team members to keep an open mind in their work, and we’re always looking for new opportunities to expand, update, or adjust our standards and processes to produce the best work possible.

Work Hard, Have Fun

We spend a lot of time working, so GCommerce wants to make that time valuable. Every team member plays a fundamental role in the success of our clients, and we want each individual to understand that.

However, our work isn’t everything and it’s important to take time for yourself. GCommerce provides plenty of opportunities to relax and recharge such as virtual holiday events, travel opportunities to support our client work, and an annual in-person retreat.

Do the Right Thing

We seek team members who display honesty, responsibility, and a natural kindness and empathy towards others. Team members are encouraged to promote understanding and empathy with every task, help each other out when trying to solve a unique problem or meet a tough deadline, and call out the achievements of others.

We also try to do the right thing as a company, participating in non-profit work, supporting our volunteer-based Equity & Advocacy Team, and offering employee-first benefits such as paternity leave and bereavement leave for a wide variety of relationships.

Excellence & Efficiency

GCommerce has always been recognized as one of, if not the best hospitality digital marketing agencies in the world. To fuel that ascension, we rely on the excellent work of every team member, every day. To support our team, we offer yearly performance reviews, assist with goal planning, and provide regular, ongoing education and training to all team members and departments.

Growth

GCommerce always strives to keep growing and improving. New clients and services are announced with hefty fanfare, new team members are welcomed with comprehensive training and routine check-ins with managers, and departing team members are thanked for their contributions and asked to reflect on their experience with us. We rely on our team to keep us growing, and continually celebrate each mark of success towards that goal.

Non-Profit Work

While GCommerce is primarily a hospitality-based agency, we’re excellent marketers across the board and like to volunteer our expertise wherever possible. The company offers various opportunities to participate in non-profit work, supporting the causes that our team members believe in.

  • Peace House logo

Peace House

Committed to ending family violence and abuse, Peace House provides safe housing, education, outreach, and support services, including a 24/7 helpline, victim advocacy, and clinical therapy. Peace House was founded in 1992 following a tragic domestic violence incident, leading to the establishment of a volunteer-run shelter in 1995, which has since evolved into a state-licensed facility with professional staff. In 2019, the facility expanded with a Community Campus offering transitional housing, childcare, and programs to foster healthy relationships and independence. GCommerce supports Peace House and their mission by creating Facebook ads for community events and fundraisers, managing Paid Search campaigns, and providing Search Engine Optimization services.

  • Summit Pride Logo

Summit Pride

Summit Pride is a non-profit organization formed by the Park City Municipal to evaluate and address the needs of local residents, focusing on LGBTQ+ inclusivity. GCommerce has supported their formation and awareness in a number of ways, such as developing their logo, designing event flyers, and assisting with their website.

Founder's Day

Founder’s Day at GCommerce Solutions is a special annual event held every year on June 14th, dedicated to giving back to the local community. This tradition encourages employees to take the day off to participate in community service projects, support local charities, and engage in social impact initiatives.

Past volunteer efforts have included supporting organizations like Mammoth Lakes Recreation & Trail Association, San Antonio Parks and Recreation, Sisters Trail Alliance, and the Food Bank for Central & Northeast Missouri. By volunteering and contributing to meaningful causes, employees make a positive difference while embodying the core values on which the company was built.

And more to come!

The Equity & Advocacy Team

In 2022, GCommerce formed the Equity & Advocacy Team, a group of volunteers aiming to further promote inclusivity and team member satisfaction at the company.

All team members at GCommerce are entitled to safety, respect, and fulfillment at their jobs, which is the underlying principle of the Equity & Advocacy Team. Along with the more traditional Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI) efforts seen at other companies, the GCommerce Equity & Advocacy Team also works to improve the workplace as a whole, aiming for a sense of belonging and fulfillment for every single employee.

This group of volunteers, with participation and support from GCommerce executives, meets bi-weekly to identify the company’s sore spots and provide initiatives to improve, develop educational content to further our team’s understanding of diverse cultures and peoples, and grow on an individual level through discussions about personal experiences and DEI topics.

View the “Diversity, Equity & Inclusion” section of the GCommerce blog for more information on the Equity & Advocacy Team, including yearly impact reports, as well as some general education on topics related to DEI.

The GCommerce Golden Rules

During the formation of the Equity & Advocacy Team, GCommerce decided on a set of “golden rules” to ensure professional and respectful communication throughout the company. These golden rules of discussion are as follows:

  • All Perspectives Deserve Respect
Very few things are “right” and “wrong” in every single context, and everyone deserves a chance to be heard.
  • No One Knows Everything
Everyone comes from different backgrounds, with a different level of exposure to various issues. There’s no shame in not knowing something – we’re all learning together.
  • Everyone Makes Mistakes
No one is perfect, and mistakes are just that – mistakes. Use them as an education opportunity, but don’t dwell on them.
